Waves of Expression is a celebration of the culture, lifestyle, and natural beauty of surfing. Blending traditional surf art with contemporary photography, the exhibition explores the deep connection between surfers and the ocean, showcasing diverse artistic interpretations of surf life.

Presented as part of the Kirra Longboard Klassic, Waves of Expression brings together established and emerging photographers and artists to exhibit powerful, surf-inspired works. Proceeds from the exhibition will support local charitable causes, reinforcing the event’s strong connection to community and place.

The exhibition features a wide range of creative expressions inspired by the ocean and surf culture:

An invite-only evening celebrating the launch of the exhibition, featuring:

Awards Presentation Afternoon

Winners will be announced as part of the Kirra Longboard Klassic closing ceremony, recognising outstanding artistic achievement across multiple categories.

People’s Choice Award

Visitors are invited to vote for their favourite artwork or photograph with a gold coin donation. All proceeds will go directly to a designated local charity.

 

Kirra Longboard Klassic Collaboration

A special crossover element will connect the exhibition directly to the Kirra Longboard Klassic competition. Portraits and action shots of participating surfers will be displayed in real time throughout the event, creating a dynamic fusion of art and sport.
