A celebration of the culture, lifestyle, and natural beauty of surfing, blending traditional surf art with modern photography. The exhibition explores the deep connection between surfers and the ocean, highlighting diverse artistic interpretations of surf life.

As part of the 2025 Kirra Longboard Klassic, Waves of Expression brings together established and emerging photographers and artists to showcase their creative works, with proceeds supporting local charitable causes.

Event Highlights

  • Opening Night (22 July): Invite-only evening featuring meet-the-artist opportunities, live music, and light refreshments

  • Awards Presentation Afternoon: Winners announced as part of the Kirra Longboard Klassic closing ceremony

  • People’s Choice Awards: Attendees can vote for their favourite artwork or photograph with a gold coin donation, with all proceeds going to a designated charity

Collaboration with the Kirra Longboard Klassic
A special crossover element will see portraits and action shots of surfers from the competition displayed in real-time at the exhibition, creating a dynamic fusion of art and sport.
