What's On In 2026

The Kirra Longboard Klassic 2026 is a celebration of surfing, friendship and fun, bringing the community together at iconic Kirra Beach for a festival where sharing the stoke comes first. This unique longboard event is built on inclusivity and good vibes, with every finalist receiving a trophy and the most coveted prize being the “Surfer Having the Most Fun” award—because joy is at the heart of surfing.

The event proudly welcomes surfers of all ages and abilities, from groms to grannies. Divisions include Juniors, Open, Local Legends from Coomera to Pottsville, and a Defence Forces category honouring those who serve. Adaptive Surfing remains a key feature, ensuring surfers with disabilities can experience the thrill of riding Kirra’s famous waves with the support they need.

Adding colour and comedy to the line-up, the ever-popular Fancy Dress Surfing division guarantees laughs, creativity and unforgettable moments, with past surfers donning costumes ranging from Elvis to outrageous pop-culture characters. While a perfect Kirra barrel can never be promised, one thing is certain—there’s something for everyone, and a great time is guaranteed both in and out of the water.
