We are thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated Kirra Longboard Klassic is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for the weekend 26th -28th July at Kirra. It’s another weekend of thrilling competition, camaraderie, and celebration of the longboarding community. This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with exciting activities, workshops, book signings, and environmental initiatives that will make it an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

 

Known for its perfect waves and stunning scenery, Kirra will once again serve as the picturesque backdrop for our annual longboarding competition. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a newcomer to the sport, the Kirra Longboard Klassic offers an inclusive and welcoming environment for all levels of experience.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of the event, we encourage all potential competitors to submit their entries as soon as possible. Spots are filling up fast, and we don't want anyone to miss out on the chance to participate in this incredible competition.

For 2024 we are excited to introduce the Longboard Legends Workshops, a series of interactive sessions designed to help competitors enhance their skills and knowledge. These workshops will be led by some of the most respected names in the longboarding world, offering invaluable insights and tips to take your performance to the next level.

Workshop Schedule

Friday July 26

1. Competition Surfing Rules and what the judges are looking for.

   • 12.30pm 1hr duration

   • Presenters Zippy Pearson, HJ @ KLK and a regular judge at WSL events. Jason Weeks, lead commentator @ Island Style Promotions

2. Advanced Manoeuvres

• 1.45 pm 1 hr duration

• Presenters Belén Alvarez Kimble, manager of the Irukandji Longboard team for the 2024 ISA World Longboard Championships, Jason Weeks,

1. Understanding Equipment & Equipment preparedness.

• 3.00 pm 1 hr duration

• Presenters Steve Del Rosso from Clearwater Surfboards, Kirra Point Surf School

Each workshop is tailored to address different aspects of longboarding, ensuring that participants gain a well-rounded understanding of the sport. Whether you're looking to refine your technique, develop a strategic approach, or improve your wave reading skills, these workshops are an excellent opportunity to learn from the best in the business.

 

Pauline Menczer's Book Signing

We are honoured to have 93 world champion longboarder Pauline Menczer joining us for a special book signing event. Pauline's new book, "Surf Like A Woman," chronicles her incredible career and the challenges she has overcome to become a legend in the sport. This is a unique opportunity to meet Pauline, get a signed copy of her book, and hear firsthand about her experiences on and off the waves.

Environmental Activation

At the Kirra Longboard Klassic, we are committed to promoting environmental sustainability and protecting the beautiful beaches that serve as our playground. This year, we are partnering with local environmental organisation the Surfrider Foundation, to host a series of activities aimed at raising awareness and encouraging positive action.

Join us 10am on Saturday morning to learn about sustainable practices and how you can contribute to preserving our oceans and beaches.

 

Your Mates Beach Bar

After a day of thrilling competition, unwind and socialise at the Your Mates Beach Bar. Enjoy a refreshing selection of Your Mates craft beers, including the all-new Kirra Longboard Lager, and non-alcoholic beverages while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. The popup bar will be the perfect spot to relax, watch the action in the water, and catch up with fellow longboarders to celebrate the day's achievements.

The bar will feature entertainment from the talented Gavin Doniger and his Mescalito Blues providing the perfect backdrop for an evening of relaxation and fun.

Competitors Spot Prizes and Longboard Giveaway

Every amateur competitor will receive a spot prize as a token of our appreciation for their enthusiasm and dedication to the sport. Additionally, all amateur competitors will be entered into a draw to win one of four premium longboards.

Prize Board Draw Details: You must be there to claim your prize.
